PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in a solid-state imaging apparatus in which a plurality of valid pixel areas different in aspect ratio are divided in an imaging area, when a light shielding pixel array for OB clamp is provided along an outer surface of the imaging area, a ratio of pixel area occupying in a chip increases. SOLUTION: In a pixel array area 104, two valid pixel areas 102 and 103 different in aspect ratio are inscribed on an image circuit CR and cross each other. Also, by shielding light of pixels which are included neither in the valid pixel areas 102 nor in 103, light shielding areas 111 to 114 are formed on four corners of the pixel array area 104. By scanning at least one of the four light shielding areas 111 to 114 together with either the desired valid pixel areas 102 or 103, a light shielding pixel output to be a reference can be acquired.
