PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of emitting light with high brightness and high illuminance. SOLUTION: The organic EL element C is composed of a first electrode layer, a light-emitting part formed of a plurality of organic layers including a light-emitting layer and a second electrode layer which are sequentially laminated on a transparent substrate. The light-emitting part is constituted by arranging numerous light-emitting units 7 with an area of 0.2 mm2or smaller lengthwise and breadthwise between a pair of the first electrode layer 2 and the second electrode layer 3.
