PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the yield of char among products by virtue of employing biomass to increase the yield of gas in a thermal hydrocracking process of coal. SOLUTION: This thermal hydrocracking process of coal utilizes a reactor of upper and lower two stages and two chambers type. In the lower stage, oxygen or oxygen and steam are charged with coal to produce gasified gas by partial oxidation of the coal, and in the upper stage, coal and hydrogen are charged into the produced gasified gas to produce gas, oil and char by thermal hydrocracking of the coal. In the lower stage, biomass is further charged to the downstream of coal charging to subject the biomass to be pyrolyzed by the produced gasified gas. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
