PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a coating material, having not only good adhesiveness to a material to be coated such as an ABS resin, a polyester resin, a polycarbonate resin, a polystyrene resin and an acrylic resin, and high surface hardness, but also flexibility and bendability. SOLUTION: The composition for the coating material contains an acrylic resin having a repeating unit represented by a structural formula of the figure in the molecular chain, a silane compound having both of an epoxy group and an alkoxysilane group in the molecule, and a cationic polymerization initiator.
