PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for infiltrating an alkali silicate, by which a semisolid gelling reaction of an alkali silicate infiltrating material takes place quickly and securely. SOLUTION: In a method for infiltrating an alkali silicate into concrete in order to improve the waterproofness or prevent the deterioration by water absorption of a reinforced concrete structure, an aqueous solution of calcium nitrate is infiltrated into the concrete almost simultaneously with the alkali silicate infiltrating material. When the molar concentration of silicon (mol/L) of the alkali silicate infiltrating material is designated as [Si] and the molar concentration of calcium (mol/L) of the aqueous solution of calcium nitrate is designated as [Ca], the aqueous solution of calcium nitrate is regulated to have a molar concentration ratio [Ca]/[Si] of 0.15-2.0.
