PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter 34 which is excellent in versatility and is fixed to a socket of a clamping tool. SOLUTION: The adapter 34 is equipped with an insertion part 36 which can be inserted in the socket of the clamping tool, and an auxiliary socket 38 for fitting a screw part. The insertion part 36 is articulated to the auxiliary socket 38. The insertion part 36 is equipped with a main body 40, a pressing body, and an elastic body abutting on the pressing body. The insertion part 36 is composed so that the pressing body is pressed toward the outside by a resilience of the elastic body. In the main body 40, the cross section of the outside surface 46 is hexagonal. The pressing body is disposed at the position corresponding to the apex 52 of the cross section. A part of the pressing part is positioned on the outer side than the outside surface 46. Preferably, in the adapter 34, the pressing body is spherical 42. The elastic body is a leaf spring.
