PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an ultrasonic imaging apparatus which shows a position of a probe of a linear scan type in an ultrasonic probe easily and clearly to an operator. SOLUTION: Since an icon 41 similar to a cross-sectional shape of the ultrasonic probe is displayed in a display part, and a cursor 42 moving in conjunction with the position of a probe array embedded in the ultrasonic probe is provided in the icon 41, the operator quickly recognizes the position of the probe array during a scan intuitively by looking at the icon 41 and the cursor 42 and easily relates an imaging position to tomographic image information.
