The support (1) has a base plate (2) with a recess (3) for accommodating a drilling template, and a suction region (5) extending over a part of a lower side of the base plate. A suction opening (4) is provided for a vacuum pump, which is communicatively connected with the suction region, for producing low pressures between the base plate and a wall in the suction region. The suction region has partial sections (6, 7) in the base plate, where the partial sections are located at the recess in a point or axis-symmetrical manner.
