PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recorder capable of exhibiting desired performance even while increasing a converging speed. SOLUTION: In the disk recorder, an update width determining unit 31 included in a setting update unity 30 determines the update width of a set frequency f in a digital filter 23 according to a size of a position error signal PF, and an update width adjuster 33 included in the setting update unit 30 changes the update width of the set frequency f determined by the update width determining unit 31 according to a size of the set frequency f.
