PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical lens and its production method with which defect products can be suppressed even if a glass sphere is preheated. SOLUTION: The method produces an optical lens 1 which comprises a metal mirror tube 3 holding in its inside a lens 2. The metal mirror tube 3 is formed to be a hollow tube, while a tilted surface 13 is formed over from the periphery of an opening 10 of one of an inner wall part 12 to the periphery of the other opening part 11 and the tilted surface 13 of the inner wall 12 is formed to have an inclination angle in the range of 10-20 degrees, and then a spherical lens material 20 is mounted on the tilted surface 13 formed on the inner wall part 12 of the mirror tube 3. The lens material 20 is heated with the above condition to be pressed to adhere to the inner wall part 12 and thereafter the lens material 20 is again heated to form a lens surface at the opening side of the mirror tube part 3.
