A servo motor control device having a feedback loop includes: an oscillation detection unit which detects oscillation of the feedback loop and outputs an oscillation detection signal; a parameter operation unit which operation-instructs setting of a feedback loop control parameter in accordance with the oscillation detection signal; and an update unit which receives a setting value for setting the control parameter and sets the control parameter in the feedback loop while updating the setting value in accordance with the operation instruction of the parameter operation unit. When the oscillation detection signal indicates that no oscillation is detected, the parameter operation unit operation-instructs the update unit to set a control parameter based on the supplied set value. When the oscillation detection signal indicates that oscillation is detected, the parameter operation unit operation-instructs the update unit to set a control parameter which reduces a frequency bandwidth of the feedback loop.
