PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which makes the handling of a battery and a recording medium simpler while ensuring portability, a battery unit in which such a battery and such a recording medium are combined, and an adapter device corresponding to the battery unit. SOLUTION: The battery unit part 20 is removably provided on the front face of the camera main body 2 and forms a part of the gripping part of the camera in a state in which it is mounted. The battery unit part 20 has a built-in battery 28 for driving the camera. A recording medium 30 for recording images is mounted on a position of the battery unit part 20, at which the medium 30 is put out of sight when viewed from the outside in a state, in which the battery unit part 20 is mounted on the camera 1, and is exposed in a state in which the unit 20 is removed from the camera.
