<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new double stranded RNA having high nuclease resistance and exhibiting excellent RNA interference activity. <P>SOLUTION: This modified type double stranded RNA inhibiting the expression of a target gene is equipped with the following (1) to (4) characteristics. (1) The 5' terminal side of the sense strand RNA is a smooth terminal, (2) the sense strand RNA consists of 25 to 27 nucleotides, (3) a substituent bonds with only at least one of 1st to 6th nucleotides from the 5' terminal side of the sense strand and (4) the substituent bonded with the sense strand RNA is at least one kind selected from among an aminoalkyl group, a thioalkyl group, a group having cholesterol, a group having a peptide, a group having an aromatic compound, a group having a polyethylene glycol and a group having a nucleic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
