PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an electronic device, excellent in operability, with which a user is enabled to accurately control operation of the electronic device with reduced malfunction when controlling the operation in response to sound of clapping of hands, etc. SOLUTION: On the basis of a sonic wave generated for controlling an electronic device, an edge signal extractor 107 generates an edge signal. When an edge pulse is generated predetermined times by an edge pulse generator 108 on the basis of the edge signal, a control unit 120 displays any one of a plurality of images respectively corresponding to a plurality of pieces of control in an active state on a display unit of the electronic device. Furthermore, the control unit 120 displays the image to be displayed in the active state while circulating it among a plurality of images at a predetermined time interval. Moreover, the control unit 120 performs control corresponding to the image in the active state being displayed on the display unit at a point of time when the edge pulse is generated.
