PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a linear actuator having high operation accuracy and promote its miniaturization. SOLUTION: The linear actuator 1 has a structure in which stator units 2A, 2B are each disposed on both ends of a rotor 3 and the diameter of the rotor 3 can be increased up to substantially the diameter of a stator assembly 2, and thus, the linear actuator 1 can be miniaturized without deteriorating a motor torque. Since pins 11 and grooves 18d integrally includes the stator unit 2A, the center of the stator unit 2A exactly matches the center of an output shaft 4. In this way, the output shaft can be prevented from being inclined with respect to a linear movement direction of an output shaft 4, and the operation accuracy can be improved. Further, since a motor unit provided with all the main constituents as a motor is configured in a state where the stator unit 2A and the rotor 3 is accommodated in a bottomed cylindrical case 5, the rotation characteristics of the rotor 3 can be evaluated in a state where the output shaft 4 is not incorporated.
