PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair having a back cover mounting structure that ensures beauty of the chair and having higher strength and durability than a conventional chair, and also to provide the back cover of the chair. SOLUTION: The back cover C that is mounted on a backrest 3 to form a stretcher material, is composed of a cover body 6 and a plate body 7 attached to the inside of this cover body 6. The cover body 6 includes a front cover 61 and a rear cover 62 that form an inside space for receiving a cushion material 63 and a bag-like housing part 6S that can house the backrest by being covered on the upper end side of the backrest 3. The plate body 7 is attached to the inside of the storage part 6S, wherein the storage part 6S is opened only downward and is arranged backward from the space for receiving the cushion material 63, in a state covered on the upper end side of the backrest 3.
