<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus, in terms of the operability of a user regarding the mounting of the process cartridge into an image forming apparatus main body. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge 7 includes: a development unit 4 which is supported movably to and away from a photoreceptor unit 26 to move between a contact position at which a photoreceptor drum 1 comes in contact with a development roller 40 and a first separation position at which the photoreceptor drum 1 separates from the development roller 40, the development unit 4 having a force receiving portion abutting against a separation cam to move to the first separation position; a pressurizing spring 53 which energizes the development unit 4 so as to move it to the contact position; and a separation member which is provided in one of the photoreceptor unit 26 and development unit 4 and engages the other of the photoreceptor unit 26 and development unit 4 to hold the development unit 4 at a second separation position at which the photoreceptor drum 1 and the development roller 40 are separated from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
