PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely execute a manual shift intended by a driver, in an automatic transmission carrying out an automatic shift and a manual shift. SOLUTION: An ECU executes a program including: a step S118 of outputting a down-shift command by (-) operation (manual) of the driver by estimating that the driver senses that an accelerator-on down-shift is being executed (S114) when it is determined that the accelerator-on down-shift is started (YES in S108) and the increment of acceleration from the accelerator-on down-shift start is larger than a threshold value A (YES in S112); and a step S124 of prohibiting output of the down-shift command by the (-) operation by the driver by estimating that the driver does not sense that the accelerator-on down-shift is being executed (S120) when the increment of acceleration from the accelerator-on down-shift start is smaller than the threshold value A (NO in S112).
