PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which optical parts can be cooled properly and a projected image can be maintained properly. SOLUTION: The projector 1 is equipped with: a light source device; a light-modulating device 451 for modulating a luminous flux emitted from the light source device, according to image information; a housing for optical parts 46, in which a plurality of optical parts including the light-modulating device 451 is housed and arranged; a projection optical device 3 for enlarging and projecting the luminous flux modulated by the light-modulating device 451; and an outer housing 2 in which the light source device, the housing for optical parts 46 and the projection optical device 3 are housed and arranged. An air circulating opening 4611, through which air can be circulated to the inside and the outside is formed in the housing for optical parts 46 and a dust-acquiring member 7 which can acquire dust going to the inside of the housing for optical parts 46 through the air circulating opening 4611 is provided outside the housing for optical parts 46.
