PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inhibiting elution of a harmful trace element from combustion residue of coal in a coal fired power generation system. SOLUTION: This method of inhibiting the elution of harmful trace element from combustion residue of the coal used as a fuel in the coal fired power generation system, comprises adding an elution preventing agent including at least one or more of limestone, slaked lime and calcined lime, to the coal as an elution preventing agent for coal addition, and further collecting the limestone from a dust collecting state at an upstream side among a plurality of dust collecting stages constituting a dust collector for collecting the limestone after burning the coal.
