<p>In a brake device for an elevator, a housing has a pair of opposed parts opposite to each other in the rotating direction of a rotary body. A brake shoe displaced between the opposed parts is contacted with and separated from a rotating body. The brake shoe is brought into contact with and separated from the rotating body by driving a brake drive device. Control members for restricting the displacement of the brake shoe in the rotating direction of the rotary body are disposed between the opposed parts and the brake shoe. The control members are formed separately from the housing, and secured to the housing by fixing members.</p> |
