The invention relates to a method for producing an infectious hepatitis C virus (HCV) particle, comprising the step of introducing an expression vector containing a DNA fragment including a DNA sequence encoding a 5' noncoding region and a structural protein of HCV and an arbitrary nonstructural protein and a DNA sequence encoding a nonstructural protein and a 3' noncoding region derived from HCV JFH1 strain downstream of the RNA polymerase I promoter and further containing a DNA fragment including the RNA polymerase I terminator downstream thereof into a cell which allows HCV proliferation.
