<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal controller and a signal control method to control an amplitude of a receiving signal simply and easily. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver 100 has a gain switch 114 to correct the amplitude of the receiving signal obtained by receiving a signal modulated by a prescribed modulation system, an AGC controller 126 to calculate a gain correction quantity of the receiving signal corresponding to an amplitude error of the receiving signal, an AGC corrector 124 to be connected to a post step of the gain switch 114 and to correct the amplitude of the receiving signal based on the gain correction quantity, and a GSW controller 128 to acquire a gain switch setting value based on the gain correction quantity and the modulation system of the receiving signal.
