<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry battery with excellent corrosion resistance with little content of indium, and also well-balanced and excellent other battery characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: This alkaline dry battery is composed of a zinc negative electrode in which zinc alloy powder having the indium content of not more than 0.015 wt.%, and an aluminum content of 0.008-0.02 wt.% is dispersed in a gel alkali electrolyte containing a cross-linking polyacrylate water-absorbing polymer of 0.5-3 wt.%, a separator with one or a plurality of sheets of nonwoven fabric are disposed with its thickness to be 360-880 μm, and a positive electrode containing manganese dioxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
