PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reproducing data and a device for recording data, also usable as peripheral devices of a computer (PC). SOLUTION: A disk control unit 10 for controlling a disk mechanism part 1 via a recording/reproducing part 5 is provided. This disk control unit 10 includes a PC interface part 29 for adjusting data transfer with the peripheral part of a PC, an AV signal I/O connection part 31 for connecting the entry/exit of an AV signal to an external camera 51, and a PC/AV signal switching part 27 for selecting the PC interface part 29 and the AV signal entry/exit connection part 31 to transfer data to a buffer control part 26 and an edit control part.
