PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information embedding device and an embedded information acquisition device whose accuracy of acquiring embedded information is hardly degraded even though an embedded document is repeatedly copied. SOLUTION: The information embedding device has: a gravity center deriving means for deriving a gravity center position with respect to a predetermined direction of letters in a letter string comprised of a plurality of letters lining in the predetermined direction; a distance determining means for determining a distance between the gravity center positions derived by the gravity center deriving means of adjacent letters in the letter string; and a letter string information generating means for generating letter string information indicating the letter string in which the distance between the gravity center positions with respect to the predetermined direction of the adjacent letters in the letter string is considered to be the distance determined by the distance determining means.
