摘要 The present invention is a simulation-based method for rapidly designing, evaluating, and/or optimizing a microfluidic system or biochip. The method provides an environment for schematic generation, system layout, problem setup, simulation, and post-processing. The method comprises a system solver used to simulate microfluidic processes such as pressure driven and electroosmotic flows, analytes dispersion, separation, and mixing, and biochemical reactions. The system solver uses a mixed methodology approach that enables the operation of complete, complex microfluidic systems to be simulated rapidly and iteratively.
