The tool has a processing unit (5) e.g. tool spindle, for accommodating tools (7, 7') of a tool magazine (2). The tool magazine is separated into two parts (11, 11'), where the part (11) is firmly connected with a machine frame and the part (11') is rotatably supported around a pivot axis. Tool fittings (12) form a chain and are positively guided in a connection link, and the part (11) includes a drive motor (21) for the chain. The connection link is opened for separating the chain by disconnecting locking parts (24).
