<p>The method involves manufacturing a mold based on mold model data, and correcting the mold. The corrected mold is measured with a measuring tool to produce three-dimensional (3D) mold measuring data. The 3D mold measuring data and the mold model data are compared. A surface represented by the 3D measuring data is brought in proximity to another surface represented by the mold model data. Absolute values of distances between pairs of measuring points on the surfaces are calculated and the mold model data is corrected based on the values.</p>
