PLANT HAVING INCREASED YIELD OF SEEDS

It is found that a transformed plant having a .gamma.-glutamylcysteine sy nthetase gene introduced therein is increased in at least one of the number of flowers and the number of seeds compared to its wild-type one and is ther efore increased in the yield of seeds. Based on this finding, it is possible to elucidate the function of a product of a plant-derived .gamma.-glutamylc ysteine synthetase gene and to provide a technique for producing a plant hav ing increased yield of seeds.
