<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which gate lines are stably driven. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes a first substrate having a pixel thin-film transistor formed thereon, a second substrate opposing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer placed between the first and the second substrates. The first substrate includes: a first insulation substrate having a display region where the pixel thin-film transistor is formed and a non-display region that encloses the display region; gate lines formed in the display region and electrically connected to the pixel thin-film transistor; a driving part including a driving thin-film transistor, located in the non-display region and driving the pixel thin-film transistor; and a dummy semiconductor layer formed in a peripheral region of the driving part on the first insulating substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
