<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device wherein reflection display of high contrast can be obtained and display of high quality is made possible in both reflection display and transmission display. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal device which has a liquid crystal layer 50 interposed between a pair of substrates 10 and 20 and a plurality of sub pixels corresponding to colors different from each other and wherein a reflection display region R and a transmission display region T are provided in one sub pixel and a reflection layer (a reflection common electrode 19r) and an optical retardation film 26 are formed in the reflection display region R, the optical retardation film having a thickness different from the thickness of the optical retardation film formed in the sub pixel corresponding to the other color is formed in the sub pixel corresponding to at least one color of the plurality of sub pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
