PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an optically activeβ,β-di-substituted-β-amino ester by applying a catalytic asymmetric Mannich reaction to a simple keto-imine . SOLUTION: The method for producing a compound represented by formula (I) comprises a step reacting a compound represented by formula (II) with a compound represented by formula (III) in the presence of an optically active monovalent copper complex catalyst and a trap agent represented by formula (IV): (R9O)nSiX4-n.
