PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic composition, especially for an aged and/or stressed skin which comprises water and at least one substance forming a lamellar structure with water. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (a) at least one compound having at least one functional group represented by formula (I): -CH<SB>2</SB>-N<SP>+</SP>-(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>3</SB>, and/or (b) at least one metabolite of this compound and/or (c) S-adenosylmethionine.
