摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage boosting apparatus where a surge current generated on a power supply-side at the termination of a voltage-boosting operation can be prevented. SOLUTION: A first switch S1, a reactor L1 and a load R are connected sequentially to a battery B in series. A first capacitor C1 is connected to the battery B and the first switch S1 in parallel. A second switch S2 is connected to the battery B, the first switch S1 and the reactor L1 in parallel. A second capacitor C2 is connected to the load R in parallel. The first switch S1 is turned on and voltage is boosted by an on/off operation of the second switch S2, after the first capacitor C1 is charged. The first switch S1 is turned off, the on/off operation of the second switch S2 is terminated and voltage boosting is stopped, after the first capacitor C1 is discharged. Voltage of the load R is gradually dropped by discharge of the first capacitor C1, and the energy of the reactor L1 is consumed by the load R and surge current by energy radiation of the reactor L1 is prevented at the time of terminating the voltage boosting operation.
