<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode catalyst capable of suppressing deterioration of a conductivity carrier and a catalyst metal without increasing electric resistance, and to provide a fuel cell equipped with the electrode catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This catalyst electrode is equipped with a conductivity carrier and a catalyst metal carried by the conductivity carrier, and in this electrode catalyst, only the surface of the conductivity carrier which is not in contact with the catalyst metal is covered with a low oxidizing material having oxidation resistance lower than that of the conductivity carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
