<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving reduction in user's waiting time and reduction in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: When a series of printing operation is finished, the fixing control temperature of a heat roller 13 by a control part 30 is changed to standby temperature (for example, 150°C) (step S1). The heat roller 13 is kept at that temperature until a period equivalent to an average printing interval elapses (step S3). The control part 30 calculates a value (8.3°C/minute) obtained by dividing a temperature difference (125°C) between the standby temperature (150°C) and ambient temperature (25°C) measured by an ambient temperature sensor 22 by time (15 minutes) obtained by subtracting the average printing interval (15 minutes) from a shift period (30 minutes) as temperature fall amount per minute (step S5), and the fixing control temperature of the heat roller 13 is made to fall by the temperature fall amount (8.3°C/minute) every time one minute elapses (Yes in step S7 and step S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
