<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a time for path search by every user even by avoiding that the time for path search is reduced by chip offset in accordance with each user. <P>SOLUTION: In a path controller, a control unit 105 gives a spread code shift calculator 106 a spread code number indicating a spread code of a user who is a path search target and chip offset which is preset with respect to a user, allows the calculator to calculate a spread code shift value, and sets the spread code shift value to a spread code generator 102 with reference timing to be a starting point of a time allocated to path search assigned to the user.
