<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver for having a lock function not to change setting during a user is viewing even if a small child touches operation buttons such as a power button, a channel switch button or a volume setting button and allowing only a specific user to change between a lock status and an unlock status easily. <P>SOLUTION: The television receiver has a lock status which disables an operation caused by an operation button arranged at the chassis of the receiver and an unlock status which enables the operation. The television receiver comprises a memory means for storing a fingerprint data for a legitimate user, a fingerprint authentication means for collating a fingerprint data acquired by scanning user's fingerprint with the stored fingerprint data at the memory means to authenticate the legitimate user, and a control means for changing between the lock status and the unlock status whenever the legitimate user is authenticated by the fingerprint authentication means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
