<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically pick up an image wherein a face area and a clothes area of a person have a high image quality. <P>SOLUTION: After a plurality of pieces of picked-up image data 15a are obtained by changing an image pickup condition to perform consecutive imaging operations, a face area extraction part 31 detects a face of a person from one piece of picked-up image data 15a to detects a face area of the person, and a clothes area extraction part 32 detects a clothes area corresponding to the detected face. A face area image selection part 33 and a clothes area image selection part 34 analyze the detected face area and clothes area on the basis of the plurality of pieces of picked-up image data 15a and select one of the plurality of pieces of picked-up image data 15a, which is image data having the most proper image quality in each area. An image composition part 35 generates composite image data by replacing data of the face area and the clothes area of one of the plurality of pieces of picked-up image data 15a, with image data selected by the face area image selection part 33 and a clothes area image selection part 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
