<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus for specifying whether or not a replacement unit is a new one, using terminals of the number smaller than that of the mountable replacement units. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic apparatus includes the plurality of replacement units which are attachable to/detachable from the electronic apparatus and vary an output signal according to whether it is a new one or a used one when a voltage is applied thereto. The electronic apparatus includes an application part applying a reference voltage to each replacement unit so that the replacement unit outputs the output signal indicating whether it is the new one or the used one. The electronic apparatus includes the input terminals to which the sum of the output signals from the respective replacement units is input via a signal line, wherein the number of the input terminals is smaller than that of the replacement units mountable to the electronic apparatus. The electronic apparatus includes a specifying part specifying, from among the plurality of replacement units, which of the replacement units is the new one and which of the replacement units is the used one, utilizing the fact that the sum of the output signals input thereto takes a value which is different according to the combination whether each of the replacement units is the new one or the used one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
