<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device suitably applied for a vehicle which can be made compact. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with a discharge lamp bulb 40, a resin-molded control circuit 30 for lighting on/off control of the discharge lamp bulb 40, and a lamp housing used for housing the discharge lamp bulb 40 and the control circuit 30 and equipped with a heat radiation window at a part of it.
