<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit excellent in productivity in a comparatively simple structure, with high luminance due to improvement on utilization efficiency of light-source light, little luminance unevenness due to improvement on uniformity of luminance distribution, and also with optically excellent characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: Continuous reflectors 3 are arranged so as to cover a lower part as well as side parts of each of a plurality of linear light sources 2, and a light distribution control unit 9 is arranged above the light sources 2 constituted of a diffusion plate 4, a diffusion sheet 5 and a prism sheet 6. A face out of reflective faces 7 of the reflector 3 headed downward aslant from the lower part of the light source 2 takes on a flat face 10, and a face headed toward a joint part 8 of the adjacent reflectors 3 from downward aslant of the light source 2 takes on an elliptic cylinder face 13 with a position of the light source 2 as a first focus 11, and equipped with a second focus 12 sharing with another adjacent light source 2 at a position opposite to the light source 2 side of the light distribution control unit 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
