PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money dispenser with simple paper money conveyance path configurations; the highly reliable paper money dispenser for reducing paper money jam with respect to not only Japanese yen paper money but also paper money of various sizes; and the paper money dispenser which is high in the operability of a user or a staff or high in versatility corresponding to various specifications in terms of security. SOLUTION: A money depositing and dispensing port 20 and a paper money discriminating part 30 are arranged at the upper part of the paper money dispenser 1, and paper money storage chests 60, 70, 80, and 81 are arranged at the lower part, and a paper money conveyance path is configured so as to be divided into the upper part and the lower part. A safe casing 106 surrounding only a lower paper money mechanism 1b configured of a lower paper money conveyance path and a paper money storage chest is made mountable differently from a device casing surrounding an entire teller machine, and a lower paper money conveyance path (opening/closing conveyance path) 90 is arranged on the user operation side wall face of the safe casing or in the neighborhood of the wall face at the opposite side. Also, an opening/closing door for enabling a staff to operate the paper money storage chest in the safe casing is mounted on the user side in a front operation type device to be operated from the user side, and mounted on the opposite side of the user side in a rear face operation type device to be operated from the opposite side of the user side.
