PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractive index matching agent for use in an optical connector, which hardly fails by connecting an optical connector end face with a rubber-like refractive index matching agent having a refractive index capable of optical communication and thereby preventing dust or the like from entering the optical connector end face. SOLUTION: The refractive index matching agent comprises a light transmitting gel or fluid, solidifying when it reacts with air or catalyst liquid to bond the end faces of optical connectors 12, 22, and having a refractive index capable of optical communication.
