PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of water in a circulation channel to achieve water saving by preventing washing water not to contribute to washing from diffusing into a washing tub. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises the washing tub 1 for holding the dish basket 3; a washing pump 5 for pressurizing washing water in the washing tub 1; a washing nozzle 11 disposed under the dish basket 3 to rotate while spraying the washing water pressurized by the washing pump 5 into the washing tub 1; a motor 8 for driving the washing pump 5; and a control means 19 for controlling the driving of the motor 8. The dishwasher also has a reflection plate 18 between the dish basket 3 and the washing nozzle 11 for changing the direction of washing water sprayed from spray apertures 12 of the washing nozzle 11 to the direction toward the bottom of the washing tub 1.
