PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new temperature estimation device suitable for estimating a temperature or a temperature change of a braking device of a wheel of an automobile or another vehicle. SOLUTION: This brake temperature estimation device of a wheel of a vehicle includes a signal generation means 30 installed on a non-rotating portion 18 of the vehicle at a clearance d to a rotor 14 rotating together with the wheel of a braking device of the wheel, for generating a signal changing corresponding to a distance change of the clearance to the rotor; and an estimation means 50 for estimating a temperature of the rotor based on the distance change of the clearance. A means for detecting the clearance may be an electromagnetic pickup or the like used for a wheel speed sensor or the like, and the distance change of the clearance is calculated from a change of an output voltage.
