PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus composed of a signal tube extending up to an engine control mechanism disposed on the cool side of a fire wall from an engine component on the hot side of the fire wall in a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes a fuse 54 in a portion of the signal tube extending through the hot side. The fuse 54 prevents an over temperature situation on the cool side of the fire wall by changing to a second condition from a first condition in response to a break of the signal tube. The engine control mechanism operates the engine by utilizing a first operating logic utilizing a pressure signal related to a static pressure of fluid in the signal tube. Loss of this pressure signal causes the engine control mechanism to change to a second operating logic which does not utilize the pressure signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
