An electronic apparatus has a body section (110), a displacement section (120) (front section) which is displaced relative to the body section (110), an installation section (139) (external audio/video input section) in which an external apparatus (200) (USB memory) can be installed, and a control section (140) which limits at least a part of displacement of the front section (120) when the external apparatus (200) is installed in the installation section (139). When installed on the displacement section or the body section, the external apparatus projects out. However, such an arrangement as described above can prevent damage to the external apparatus etc. occurring when the displacement section is displaced with the external apparatus installed.
