<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the lifetime of a brake booster by adequately operating an assist mechanism in the brake booster. <P>SOLUTION: When a brake pedal 3 is not stepped on when a vehicle is stopped while an ignition switch is ON, an atmospheric air introduction valve 4 is opened, and the atmospheric air is rapidly introduced in a pressure changing chamber 13. As a result, even when the stepping force of the brake pedal 3 is large, the relative displacement between an input rod 22 and a power piston 21 is decreased, and the operation of an assist mechanism of a brake booster 2 is suppressed thereby. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
